Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, recently spoke out against the negative commentary from some crypto influencers and media outlets, pointing out a stark difference between public perception and the actual progress of Cardano. He highlighted Cardano’s significant achievements and its promising future, especially with the upcoming Chang Hard Fork scheduled for late 2024.
Hoskinson described the Chang Hard Fork as a crucial step for Cardano, marking it as “the most significant hard fork in the history of the project.” This update will initiate a three-phase process to improve the blockchain’s new governance system. The first phase involves introducing “delegate representatives,” elected to represent the Cardano community, allowing users to delegate their ADA holdings and encouraging transparent community participation.
Hoskinson remarked, “Never in my career have I seen such a profound disconnect between reality and opinion with the cryptocurrency influencer and media perception of Cardano versus its actual fundamentals.”
After the hard fork, the Cardano Constitution Convention will be held in Argentina, where governance representatives from global workshops will draft the initial version of the Constitution. This document will then be subject to a community-wide vote for ratification, setting the foundation for Cardano’s community-led governance.
He also emphasized Cardano’s substantial progress in research and development, noting the rapid growth of numerous community-decentralized applications. Hoskinson mentioned upcoming events such as Rare Evo, the Foundation Summit, and Token 2049. He also highlighted technological advancements like Hydra and initiatives like partnerships, Midnight, Prism, and various community activities.
Despite skeptical media headlines, Hoskinson affirmed that Cardano remains a strong and enduring presence in the industry, dedicated to addressing real-world economic, political, and social challenges.
